Kurrentt ("we", "us", "our") is a follow-up and revenue-recovery service for residential solar installers, operated as a sole trader in Australia under the registered business name Kurrentt. You can reach us any time at info@kurrentt.com.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy describes how we actually handle information — not aspirations, and not template boilerplate. If we don't do something, we don't claim it.
02 The two kinds of information we handle
Understanding this policy starts with one distinction. We handle two different categories of personal information, and our role is different for each:
1 — Information about our own prospects and clients
The business-contact details of people who enquire with us or engage our service — collected by us, held by us, and our responsibility.
2 — Our clients' customers' information
When a solar installer engages us, we handle their customers' personal information — names, email addresses and phone numbers — on the client's behalf, to deliver follow-up messaging for that client. The client remains primarily responsible for that information and for the customer relationship; we process it solely to deliver the agreed service, under the client's instructions. (In the language used in many privacy frameworks, the client is the "controller" of that information and we act as their "processor.")
The short version: if you enquired with Kurrentt, your details are ours to protect. If you enquired with a solar installer and heard from us, we're working with your details on that installer's behalf — and only for them.
03 Information we collect from you
When you complete our pipeline-audit enquiry form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your business name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your approximate monthly lead volume
If you contact us by email, phone or message, we also hold that correspondence and the contact details you used. If you become a client, we collect the business information needed for onboarding — your pricing, process and systems details.
Why we collect it (the primary purpose): to arrange and conduct your free pipeline audit, to deliver the service if you engage us, to communicate with you about your enquiry or engagement, and to meet our legal obligations. That's what it's for, and that's what it's used for.
04 Information we handle for our clients
When a client engages us, they authorise access to the business systems and information needed to run the agreed follow-up service, which may include:
- Lead records and enquiry details
- CRM contacts
- Customers' names, email addresses and phone numbers
- The client's calendar, to book appointments
We use this information solely to deliver the service to that client: responding to their new enquiries, following up their quiet quotes, re-engaging their older enquiries and past customers, and booking appointments into their calendar. It is never used for our own purposes, never used to market anything other than the client's own business, and never shared between clients.
Our follow-up currently runs by email. Where SMS is used, the same protections in this policy apply to the phone numbers we message.
05 What we don't collect
- Sensitive information. We don't ask for, and don't want, information about health, religion, political views or similar. Please don't include it in messages to us.
- Payment card details via this website. This website takes no payments, so no card or banking details are collected through it.
- Purchased data lists. We don't buy lists of personal information from data brokers — for ourselves or for clients.
06 How we collect it
- Directly from you — when you submit our enquiry form, or contact us by email, phone or message.
- From clients, by authorised access — through the system access a client approves during onboarding, so we can operate their follow-up.
You can stay anonymous. You're welcome to browse this site without identifying yourself, and to ask us general questions anonymously. We only need your details when you book an audit or engage the service.
07 How we use it
We use personal information only for the primary purpose it was provided for — delivering the service — or for directly related purposes you'd reasonably expect (like replying to your enquiry, or reporting results to the client whose pipeline we work on).
We do not sell or rent personal information. Not our prospects', not our clients', and not our clients' customers'. There is no version of our business where your details are the product.
08 Automation: how follow-up messages are sent
We're upfront about this because it's how the service works: we use automated systems to schedule and send follow-up messages on our clients' behalf.
- What's automated: the timing and sending of follow-up emails (and SMS, where SMS is used) — for example, replying quickly to a new enquiry, or re-opening a quote that's gone quiet after a few days.
- What those systems use: contact details (name, email address, phone number), the status of the enquiry or quote in the client's systems, and message history — the information needed to send the right message at the right time, and nothing more.
- What stays human: a person sets up every sequence, and message wording is approved by the client before it goes live. Replies that need judgment are handled by people, not machines.
- What automation doesn't do: it does not make significant decisions about individuals — it doesn't set prices, assess eligibility, or decide who gets served. It sends messages, under human oversight.
You can always reach a human: reply to any message, or email info@kurrentt.com.
09 Received a message from one of our clients?
If you've received a follow-up email about a solar enquiry or quote, it's because you shared your details with the installer you were dealing with, and we sent that message on their behalf as part of their follow-up service.
- Your details came from them — the installer you enquired with — not from a purchased list.
- Opting out is easy and immediate: use the opt-out in the message, reply to say stop, or email info@kurrentt.com. We action opt-outs promptly, and we keep the minimum record needed to make sure you aren't messaged again.
- Questions about your information are handled with the installer, since it's their customer relationship — but you can start with us and we'll make sure your request lands with whoever can action it (see section 17).
10 Storage & security
Information is stored using reputable third-party hosting and software platforms, each governed by their own privacy policies. This website is served over HTTPS, so information you submit is encrypted in transit.
Access is limited to authorised personnel, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we can promise is that we take security seriously, and that if something goes wrong we'll handle it the way section 16 describes.
11 Where your data lives
The third-party platforms we rely on to run the website, our email and the follow-up service store and process data on servers that may be located outside Australia — primarily in the United States.
Where information is handled overseas, we take reasonable steps consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including choosing established providers that publish their own privacy and security commitments. By submitting information through this website or engaging the service, you acknowledge that your information may be stored or processed on such platforms.
12 When we disclose
We do not sell, rent, share or disclose personal information to third parties, except:
- Where it is necessary to operate the service through the third-party platforms described above;
- To the client on whose behalf we handle their customers' information — reporting on their own pipeline is part of the service; or
- Where we are required or authorised to do so by Australian law.
That's the whole list.
13 Analytics & cookies
This website currently uses no analytics tools and no advertising trackers. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't sell browsing data.
If we add standard analytics in future, it will be the aggregated kind — page views and traffic sources that can't identify you individually — and this page will be updated to say so. Any cookies used by such tools can be blocked or cleared in your browser settings, and the site will keep working.
14 Direct marketing
We contact you about your enquiry, your audit, or the service you've engaged us for — that's it. We don't add you to marketing lists without your consent, and we don't send unsolicited marketing.
If we ever send marketing you've agreed to receive, every message will include a working unsubscribe, and we'll stop the moment you ask — by unsubscribe link or by emailing info@kurrentt.com. (For follow-up messages sent on a client's behalf, see section 9.)
15 How long we keep it
- Website enquiry data — kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, and then removed.
- Client operational data (including their customers' information) — kept for the duration of the engagement, and deleted within 30 days of the client's written request when the engagement ends.
- Opt-out records — if you opt out of messages, we keep the minimum record needed to make sure you aren't messaged again.
- Records required by law — kept only as long as Australian law requires, then removed.
16 If something goes wrong
We follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will promptly assess and contain it, notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required, and explain plainly what happened, what information was involved, and what we're doing about it.
Where a breach involves information we handle on a client's behalf, we will also promptly inform that client so they can meet their own obligations to their customers.
17 Access, correction & complaints
Access, correction and deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing info@kurrentt.com. We will respond within 30 days, and we won't charge you for making a request. We may ask you to verify your identity first — that protects your information from being handed to someone pretending to be you. If we ever have to refuse a request (which the law permits only in limited circumstances), we'll explain why in writing.
If your request concerns information we handle on a client's behalf — you're a customer of one of our installer clients — we'll coordinate with that client, since the information belongs to their customer relationship. You won't be left bouncing between us: we'll make sure the request reaches whoever can action it, and we'll help them do it.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at info@kurrentt.com with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line so we can put it right. We take complaints seriously and will respond within 30 days.
If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
